CONTAINERS FROM CHINA TO SOFIA WILL CROSS PORT SVISHTOV
The equipment for heavy load 40 feet containers discharging has arrived today at the International Port Svishtov. This investment of the Port will allow processing of containers of all standards. Till now, that container servicing was difficult to implement due to the lack of necessary equipment on the territory of Port Svishtov.
The containers from China to Sofia now will cross Port Svishtov. The reason is the shorter delivery distance of containers from Asia to Sofia and Central Bulgaria as well as the better price through Port Svishtov compared to Varna or Thessakoniki. By investing in new equipment International Port Svishtov aims at competing not Varna but the Greek port Thessakoniki, which, during the last years, covers 2/3 of the container traffic to Sofia. |
